The Austin Traditional Jazz Society

The Austin Traditional Jazz Society (ATJS)is dedicated to the preservation and performance of Traditional Dixieland Jazz in Austin and Central Texas. ATJS sponsors a year-round schedule of live concerts featuring the area's established Dixieland bands. In recent years, the Society has sponsored concerts by the Jim Cullum Jazz Band of San Antonio, three appearances by the Ed Polcer Jazz All Stars from New York, and the Connie Jones' Jazz All Stars from New Orleans.

Membership is open to anyone who enjoys traditional Dixieland jazz. Membership dues entitle members to attend the regularly scheduled concerts and jam sessions, an E-mail subscription to The Austin Jazz Messenger, and discounted tickets to ATJS special jazz concerts.

The ATJS Jazz Jam on January 8th had a great turnout. The ATJS Jazz Jam is "musician friendly". What matters is a desire to play Dixieland jazz. Skill level is not as important as attitude in this jazz jam. Check out the photos taken at the ATJS Jazz Jam!
